very humbled

This afternoon as I sat on the front porch waiting for Lance to get off the bus, I was able to talk to a lady in my neighborhood who was walking by.  I'm not even sure if she lives in my neighborhood.  I told her that I have two young kids and that I had my youngest when I was 39.  She said that gives her hope because she does not have children yet and that she is 48.  She then went on to tell me that the reason she isn't sure if she'll have children is because some bad things happened to her physically as a child.  I was heart broken to hear her story.  As she walked away I just prayed, Lord Jesus, please help that sweet baby.  She is your child.  She is your baby.  Her name is Tonya if you want to pray for her too.  I don't think it's an accident that we crossed paths today.

xoxo,
Kelly

  1. Praying! Sometimes it really does hurt to feel others' pain as Jesus feels ours. Hearing others' stories puts things in perspective. We have been in a grief support group with our church led by our pastor, and it has been wonderful sharing stories and growing closer to others. I hope you made a special new friend!
