Tell me something good

Hey there friends!  I hope all is well.  We are having a much better week than last week.  I thought it would be fun to do a post about the various things we read.  Although I might be in the minority, I still love to read the newspaper!  They don't deliver on Monday, Tuesday, or Saturday, but it feels like a mild accomplishment when I can finally make it to mid-week and get my newspaper on Wednesday morning!  It always feels like the rest of the week is down hill after that.

On Sunday mornings I love to get up earlier than anyone else, get my newspaper at the end of the driveway, and crawl back in bed.

My all time favorite columnist is Darrell Huckaby.  He is a self-described "lint head from Porterdale, Ga."  A few years ago I may or may not have put a notebook together...

A few of those have titles such as, American needs our votes early and often, Longing for sitting around the kitchen table, and Virtues of an afternoon nap.

Another of my favorites is Ronda Rich who writes about being a Southern woman, days gone by, and her family roots in the North Georgia mountains.  I recently looked her up on YouTube and found that she has done many speaking engagements.  My favorite one though was her video of making buttermilk biscuits in which she didn't measure anything!

Lastly, I'll mention Rob Jenkins.  He writes for the Gwinnett Daily Post on Sundays, and has a published book titled Family Man:  The Art of Surviving Domestic Tranquility.  He unashamedly writes about family life and the importance of Christian principles in the home...and he occasionally has a rant on local road repairs...lol!

Well, I hope you all liked these.  Please let me know if there is a favorite newspaper columnists you follow.  I'm like a sponge when it comes to interesting articles and columns, and I've love to look them up!
