Backyard stuff, the laundry line, and the dress

Hey y'all, hope all is well.  These first two pictures were taken last month and I just didn't get around to posting them.  We enjoyed having the kiddy pool in the backyard until a certain five year old kept turning it into a mud pit....pool drama is not something new around here.

We had a fury little visitor last week...

I was a little hesitant about telling y'all this, but I had Matt build a clothes line in the backyard.  I wasn't sure that I would stick with it, but I am so glad that I have.  It is really nice to not run the dryer and it has saved us on our utility bill.

Lastly, I just have to brag a little bit on this dress I made for Clarice.  I've sewed lots of curtains, but this was my first try at clothing...

Hope you all are having a great summer.  Talk to you soon.

  1. Back yard pools are so much fun. We put a little 3 foot pool up this summer and the kids have LOVED it! I don't have a clothes line, but I do have a drying rack. It comes in so handy. The dress is beautiful! I love it!

    1. Thank you, I've started putting the little pool in the carport so that helps a lot...I'll have to do a post about that one too. :)

  2. You and Natasha are really making me want a clothes line. How is it in our terrible summer heat and humidity? I just don't think I could use it much in the summer. Your backyard looks lovely and shady so maybe that helps. And I love that dress you made. Just perfect! I envy your sewing skills. I just can't figure out the sewing machine and haven't found anyone to teach me. Sigh.

    1. Even if the humidity is really high, it will still dry. I put the clothes out in the morning, and at the first afternoon clap of thunder I go running back out there to get
And I just do hand is really relaxing for me.

  3. Yay!!!!!!! You have a clothesline!!! And it looks great! And ditto all that to the dress! Are you taking orders?!?! :)
