J U N E happenings

Hey there friends, hope you all are having a great summer.  Here are some of our recent happenings...

2016 "Submerged" VBS...I had the four year olds this year.  Lots of fun!

Lance trying out a new playground at Chick-fil-A...he was behind the glass while I enjoyed eating breakfast and reading the newspaper...you know, stuff that "normal" people do...

Clarice is enjoying her new car...that Matt pulled out of a dumpster...we're real fancy around here...

Taking pictures and being silly while waiting in the car for Day Camp to open.  This week CC went to Day Camp at our church, and Lance went to one at a church down the road...

I brought home a Magnolia cutting that may or may not be from a grocery store parking lot...

Lance is all packed up and ready for a great day at Day Camp.  He will end up being there a total of three weeks that we have spaced out through the summer.  He loves it!

And lastly, here are a few pictures of Clarice when we were dropping off Lance at Grammy and Grandpa's for a weekend.

Thanks for checking in with us.  Love y'all!

2016 summer vacation

This past weekend Matt and the kids and I along with Matt's parents went to the North Georgia mountains.  We took a long four day weekend and we got to stay in a cabin in Unicoi State Park.  It was a lot of fun during the day, but the nights didn't go so well because Clarice was constantly waking up and everyone was a little out of sorts.  Here are our pictures...

Lance walked in the creek a little bit, but Clarice didn't even want her big toe to touch that cold water...

On Thursday we all took a walk on Frog Pond trail...then we got lost and may or may not have spotted bear poop...scary!
On Friday afternoon Clarice and I drove a mile and a half up the road to Anna Ruby Falls.  Then we walked on the half mile trail...no stroller necessary for that girl!
Clarice did great on the way up, but on the way back down she wanted to stop and crawl on all the rocks.  I thought it was cute to stop and take a picture but I had to quickly put my camera down once I saw how quickly she was moving!
Always a good idea to bring juice boxes...

So, that was our main summer adventure.  I'm glad to be back home...lol!

Love Language: Water

Lance has always been my water baby.  I joke around and say his love language is water.  So in an effort to cut down on summer TV time, I had the bright idea of buying season passes to our local swimming pools.  We have a pool less than a mile from us but it is an outdoor one.  We like to go to the indoor one that is about eight  miles away.  It is really nice...

We have been to this big pool twice in the last week and CC isn't into it.  She has a death grip on me or Matt when in the pool, and is much happier when just looking from afar...ok, maybe she doesn't look all that happy in this next picture though...

And in the afternoons when the kids get a little antsy, I sometimes like to let each of them have a sink bath or play games with water in the sink...(he is standing on a step-stool)

I am thankful that Clarice likes sink baths and nighttime baths.  I know she'll come around to the pool eventually...lol.  Thanks for checking in with us.  Hope you all have a great week.

our trip to Athens...Georgia part 2

As the previous post stated, we were having lots of fun exploring Athens, Georgia.  Although we had quite a ways to walk, we finally made ...
