weekend stuff...mother's day

I started off the special weekend by getting up early and heading off to the gym.  It was the first time I had been there in....a!  Then I re-fueled at Chick-fil-A.  Although I felt a little guilty about spending the money, I next went to get a manicure and pedicure.  It was such a nice treat, and it was also really nice for Matt to be with the kids.  I was able to get caught up on some reading and it turned out to be a really relaxing day.

I may have also stopped by a local bakery which probably cancels out the gym, but at least I'm heading in the right direction...sort of...

Many in our family have sensitive skin.  I got my mom and sister-in-law sunscreen.  My sister-in-law joked, "nothing says I love you like sunscreen."

Mother's day wasn't quite as relaxingWe all went to church and then Matt and Clarice went home to take naps while Lance and I drove out to the country to visit with my mom.  Lance was running around the house and everyone kept telling me to just eat my lunch and relax.  The price to pay for that was me spending half an hour picking up pieces from five board games that Lance had dumped all over the  floor...sigh.  Then I had the bright idea for Lance and I to go walk a mile into town to go to a park.  That was an exercise in long-suffering.  It was nice to be outside, but it was getting really hot and Lance had me carry him most of the way back home.

I guess I'm just a little tired and worn down these days.  I am thankful for my sweet babies though, and I hopeful things will get easier.

On Friday night Matt had to work late.  I bathed the kids and we all piled up in the recliner together.  Very nice, but a little short

Hope you all have a great week!

  1. Awe, I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day even if it wasn't as relaxing as you hoped. I feel you on the feeling tired and worn these days. You are one of the most active moms I know, and I always admire how you get out and walk and exercise with your kids. However, that mile walk in the southern heat to the park would be trying for anyone. And yes, I totally feel you on having to clean up the crazy messes of these kiddos. Brody, especially, is bad about just dumping stuff out everywhere without really even playing with it. I could pick up his messes all day long. Sigh. He is still my human tornado. Haha!

thankful for our new schedule

Having 2018 in the rear view mirror is such a blessing.  I am so thankful for the new year and our new schedule.  Lance only has to go to ...
