Next stop...chocolate

I'm not no longer one of those people who feel the need to stay up all hours of the night making Valentine's for students and teachers that are supposed to be from my child.  So this year I had the kids paint some cute bags, and I then spent five minutes later that night (under cover of darkness) filling them with chocolate wrapped candies.  We even made one for Lance's afternoon bus driver....which is good because I almost forgot to take a photo of the actual!  :)
So after we get through all these major chocolate holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, political debates, and spontaneous read-a-thons), I'm going to be hitting the gym.  We'll see.  Hope you all have a Happy Valentine's Day.  Love you!

  1. I sometimes feel guilty that Brody won't have the homemade "fancy" Valentine's to take to school since I am already over that with Evan. He took some cards with bags of candy from our leftover Halloween stash. That's one way to get rid of that mess. ;-) I think your idea was much cuter. I did have to finish Evan's late on Thursday night after Eddie and I got back from a trip to the mountains with the younger kids. Sigh.

  2. Just from the perspective of a mom and preschool teacher, all of the Valentine's (including the pretty homemade ones) end up being pitched in the trash. So, I don't go all out either. Yours were super cute though!

  3. I love your Valentines. We just bought them this year but next year, when I'm not working, we'll go back to making homemade ones. And yes, I'm glad we get a bit of a break on the chocolate holidays now. At least until Easter... sigh.
