The Wedding Basket

Well since Matt has been sick and working from home yesterday and today, it didn't take him long to discover that all I ever do is sit around and eat chocolate and watch Andy Stanley videos...lol!

I did however decide to make myself useful today.  On Tuesday evenings I volunteer at the Gwinnett Pregnancy Resource Center.  Most of the operation is run by volunteers, but there are a handful of paid workers.  One of them is a sweet lady named Mallory who just got married two weeks ago.

Being low on funds and high on enthusiasm, I turned to Pinterest for gift ideas.  I was a bit disappointed.  So I just came up with the Wedding Basket idea on my own.
I picked up the basket, two coffee mugs, and four cloth dinner napkins at Goodwill.  Then I went to the grocery store and bought a box of Earl Grey Tea along with Chocolate Coated Cookies...yum!  Newlyweds need chocolate!  :)
It was so much fun putting this together!  I washed and dried the napkins and mugs thoroughly.  Then I assembled them into the basket and tied a big bow with some ribbon I already had.
The total cost was a fraction of what I would have paid for in a pre-made gift set.  I am so pleased with how it turned out.  I look forward to making more baskets for the holidays.  Hope Mallory is excited about it as I am!
