Faith Friday...marriage

Hey there folks, hope everyone is doing well on this hot June afternoon.  Sorry I haven't written the Faith Friday posts much lately.  Well today's topic is a touchy one...marriage.  I believe that a marriage should be between one man and one woman.  The supreme court today said that a woman can marry a woman, and a man can marry a man (in the United States).  This is obviously causing a lively debate by many different people from many different backgrounds with many different opinions.  Let me just say I am soooo glad I am taking a summer Facebook break.  I would not want to read all those opinions all throughout the day!  But just in case you're not exhausted on the subject...read on!  :)

In the book of Genesis in the Holy Bible it says,

The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' because she was taken out of man."  For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.  The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.
 ~  Genesis 2:23-25

Well, that is what I believe and why I believe it.  With all that being said, I would also caution Christians from being too outspoken or judgemental on the subject of marriage.  If people were so over-the-top excited about marriage, then the divorce rate would be a lot lower.

A couple of things that married people can do is to:  1. have a good and loving marriage (between a man and a woman), 2. set a good example to those around you, and 3. point others in the direction of friendship, bonding, courtship, and marriage.  Just try to do it lovingly.

I love y'all and hope you all have a great weekend!

Father's Day weekend 2015

OK, I don't think I even did a Mother's day blog post...not sure what my problem was that week.  But since Matt is the best dad ever, I just couldn't pass up a chance to brag on him a little and tell you all about our weekend.
On Friday evening Lance tried to stay cool in the back yard.  He loves making mud pits.  Ha!
Then on Saturday, Matt and his parents and Lance went to Stone Mountain park.  Lance was able to go to a sand play station, and more importantly...ride a real train that goes around the mountain.
On Sunday, Matt made Cold Cucumber Soup.  It was so good.  It's nice to have a nice cold dinner in the summer time.
Matt is always much more patient with the kids than I am.  He takes the time to explain things to them, read to them, and just spend time with them.  I am so thankful that the kids have such a wonderful father!

"weekend" as a verb

I wasn't sure if this past week would ever come to an end.  But thankfully it did and we have more cute little pictures to look at.  So, here we go...

lots of kisses and being silly...I"m always thankful when Friday night finally gets here

Clarice is 10 months

Well our little sweetie girl is quickly approaching her first birthday.  Clarice is now ten months!  People comment all the time that she seems to be a very happy baby, and they are right.  Our big baby girl is happy and healthy.  If she slept through the night, she would pretty much be the perfect baby.  Unfortunately we are still getting up multiple times during the night to nurse.

At her nine month check up she was in the 97% for height, and 50% for weight.  The doctor said it is normal for the weight to drop off when they start crawling around a lot more.

She loves to crawl all over the house.  One of the few things she doesn't like is the vacuum cleaner.  I got a good laugh when she was crawling all over the house after me and screaming.  Eventually it dawned on me that even though she is afraid of the vacuum, she still wanted me to rescue her from it...too cute!  Here are some of her recent pictures...

Well, thank you for checking in with us, and especially thank you for being a part of Clarice's life!  Love y'all!

Fun-a-thon

Hey there, hope everyone is well.  We recently found an indoor play place for the kids called Fun-a-thon.  It is not too far away from the house, and it only costs about ten dollars (per day).  When Clarice turns one they will start charging for her though.  So, since I'm always up for ways to keep cool during these hot summers, this has worked out pretty well.  We will probably go there once a week now.  Here are some of our pictures.

I would type more but the kids are driving me INSANE!  I hope this summer goes by fast!  :)

VBS 2015

Last week was the Vacation Bible School for our church.  It was for Pre-K through fifth grade, so Lance got to go.  Since I volunteered to help, I was able to bring Clarice to the nursery...hello free daycare!  :)

This year the theme was Journey Off the Map.  Our main verse was Isaiah 30:21...Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."  Our favorite song was for day 4 which was Stay on Track...yep, anything that has to do with trains.  The link for Lifeway and the songs is here.

It was a great start to our summer.  I'm so glad we went.  Lance has even been dancing around the house and singing Stay on Track...so cute!  Hope you all have a great week.

last day of school

Lance's last day of school for this school year was two weeks ago...I know, I'm really on top of things...lol!  I brought Clarice in the stroller, and we watched Lance and his friends play outside for a while.  It was so cute!  Lance had a great time lining up the cones to make a "Cone Train."  Everything is about the trains with that little guy!  :)

It was also really nice to talk to his teachers for a few minutes in a relaxed environment.  His main Speech teacher won't be there next school year.  We will really miss her, but we know whoever he is with they will do a great job with Lance.  Hope you all have a great week.

our trip to Athens...Georgia part 2

As the previous post stated, we were having lots of fun exploring Athens, Georgia.  Although we had quite a ways to walk, we finally made ...
