Snow Jam 2014

Hey there friends!  Well, we finally got our snow here in Georgia earlier this week.  Lance and Matt and I had a lot of fun playing in it, but I just felt so bad for the folks who were stranded on the highways.  I was almost glued to the tv set watching the news about the weather system and the traffic jams.

The system came in a little faster and a little further north than expected, so everyone left work at the same time and the chaos ensued.  Fortunately Lance only goes to the morning session at school.  We were home pretty early before the snow even started.  Matt was able to leave early, and his normal hour and a half commute only took two hours.  I was so happy to have all of us home.  I had some homemade cookies ready for him when he walked through the door!

Here are some of our pictures.

Hope you all are safe and well!

  2. I know exactly what you mean. When I heard about the disaster that was Atlanta's roads that night, I was so upset. We didn't get that much snow up here because it seems Charlotte has had a big circle of dryness enveloping it for the last couple of weeks (we've actually had very high fire dangers so my husband's been on call a lot) and the snow took forever to get through the dry upper atmosphere and start falling to the ground. The storm was over us for a couple of hours before we saw the first snowflakes and then they were really small and fine. It was still pretty though. Glad you all enjoyed your little snow and were home safe together!

  3. I'm glad that you weren't a part of the Atlanta mess. Cookies and having fun outside are excellent ways to spend a snow day!
